Default Water ele hero with decent dmg output

Been running this for a while and has been surprisingly effective even in HM. My goal was to create a water ele hero that would compliment my Pious Renewal derv. For those that don't know, the problem with a PR derv is that IMS Pious Haste stance cancels out IAS Pious Fury stance.

Water Magic: 12+2
Energy Storage: 9+1
Fire Magic: 9+1

The major combo here is Mirror of Ice (66 dmg + 6sec 66% slowed snare) + Elemental Flame (+56 burning dmg while acting as a cover enchantment for Water Attunement). Mirror of Ice is a dual cast, nearby range aoe hex. What happens is the ele hero in the back dual casts the hex 'on me' the front liner, so the resulting aoe is massive because it hexes enemies in nearby range for both allies.

Ice Spikes and Rust (which are adjacent sized aoe dmg hexes) also spread aoe burning and ensures Mirror of Ice's recharge is halved to 7.5secs.

The last 3 slots are optional but I put GoLE, Glowing Ice to stupid-proof any hero e-manage problems, and Blurred Vision as an alternative to Aegis.

I looked into Shatterstone but the 3 second delay, reduced dmg due to armor, and smaller aoe results in less DPS.

Anyway, if you want raw damage from an ele just run GoE+Lightning Hammer+Orb+Chain, but this specific build synergized well with my Derv due to the massive spammable snare.

I don't think I ever ran Pious Haste while Pious Renewal. You could just swap Pious Fury with Heart of Fury or both for Drunken Master.

I don't see your hero build doing much damage even if Mirror of Ice is an overlooked skill.

Yeah that was the whole point most people never run it because 25% IAS > 25% IMS. Drunken master is meh, I would take an additional +10% IAS on a derv over 15% IMS anyday, simply because a scythe can multiply that IAS output x3 ideally, whereas benefits from an IMS are as is. Heart of Fury is okay except that the -1 adrenal loss each time a low adrenal skill is spammed on recharge (and you'd definitely want to maintain that IAS) really screws with building up to the major ones like Twin Moon Sweep and Save Yourselves. Good suggestions though.

The damage is there but the goal isn't to be spiking like an Air ele. It might be better to think of the build as very useful for softening up and snaring mobs so that the player's melee toon can score kills a lot faster.

edit: Fun fact: 34% movement speed is slower than Crippled, which is 50% movement speed

I like the elemental flame combo (gona build master of magic with ballads) but I would much rather invest that 9 lvls into channeling and get Ancestors rage and Splinter weapon. Or if you don't care about energy - Balthazar Aura and Strnegth of honor. (Smitting prayers)

I agree with above and I mostly suggested Drunken Master because people maxed their titles on other characters or aren't going for them, so it's 33% for both.
